finAPI is now TÜV-tested and certified

finAPI is licensed by BaFin as an account information service and payment initiation service and processes particularly sensitive financial data as an authorized payment institution. The finAPI account information service is used to retrieve and analyse account data. With explicit consent and by logging into their online banking independently via finAPI Webform, account holders can, for example, connect their checking account with the financial apps or prove their current creditworthiness to companies in this way or verify their identity online. Online payments are initiated via finAPI’s payment initiation service. Companies primarily use this service in their accounting departments and the online stores as a possible payment option via the online bank transfer for customers.

TÜV Informationstechnik GmbH (TÜViT), a TÜV NORD GROUP company, has audited finAPI’s processes for retrieving account information and initiating payments in the past few months with regard to compliance with data protection and the data security of the IT systems used. On April 27, 2022, finAPI was officially certified. “The TÜV certificate now independently confirms the high level of quality and security of finAPI’s account information and payment initiation services. Our customers can therefore be sure that their sensitive data is handled correctly“, says Dr. Martin Lacher, founder and COO of finAPI GmbH.
