fynbird relies on finAPI for secure bank connection

Our customer, fynbird, offers a cloud-based software solution for preparatory accounting and financial planning, specially developed for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The software offers a wide range of functions that help companies to manage their finances efficiently and optimise accounting processes.

Challenge: efficient, secure connection of banks and payment options

For efficient bookkeeping, you need an up-to-date overview of transactions in your bank accounts in real time. A cumbersome switch from the accounting software to online banking is unthinkable – far too complicated, time-consuming and error-prone.

fynbird was therefore looking for a partner who could offer a direct connection from banks to the software via an API interface. The aim was to cover as many German banks as possible so that every fynbird user would be able to connect their bank in the future.

It should also be possible to process payments securely directly from the software for preparatory accounting. And – talking about “security” – the solution obviously had to meet the highest data protection standards in order to guarantee the security of users’ banking data. 

finAPI convinces with functionality and service

There is, how could it be otherwise, not just one provider of such banking APIs. But the services offered by finAPI and the successful tests have convinced fybird.

finAPI offers a very high level of bank coverage – more than 99% in Germany. In addition to the numerous traditional banks, companies can also connect neobanks such as N26, Bunq, Qonto, Revolut, Holvi and C24. In addition, credit cards and PayPal accounts, which are already used by many companies as standard, can also be integrated into the accounting software via finAPI.

Payments can also be initiated by bank transfer via finAPI. This means that supplier invoices, rents, wages, and salaries and other payments can be paid directly from the software without having to switch to online banking. This also makes it possible to automate subsequent accounting processes such as payment reminders, liquidity planning or controlling functions and to simplify them enormously for companies.
