finAPI currently has over 50 employees who have more than 400 years’ of combined experience in financial tech, finance, IT, and programming. We are right beside you providing advice and support to ensure the success of your projects.
From the very beginning, our dedicated sales team is there to advise you on the implementation of your projects. All our sales managers have extensive technical know-how and many years of experience, to ensure that you can find the optimal solution for your application.
Our customer success managers support you not only when you are introducing finAPI into your company, but with all subsequent projects. If you have questions regarding technical integration or compatibility, new features, extensions, or additions to finAPI products, this team delivers fast and clear answers.
Our product management team is behind each of our products and solutions. Each product manager is responsible for specific products or product areas, and ensures that ideas are turned into new functioning software solutions. They keep a close eye on the financial marketplace, in order to react quickly to changing market conditions with innovative products as well as improvements or updates.
Our agile developer teams not only develop new products and implement new features, but are also responsible for the stability and reliability of existing software products. Continuous testing throughout the development process guarantees reliability – and security for our cloud-based applications.
The tasks of our finance department include accounting, controlling and general administration. This means booking transactions, but also controlling of the profitability of finAPI. The activities are quite varied and anything but repetitive.
finAPI is licensed by BaFin as an account information and payment service and is therefore subject to strict regulations and laws. Our compliance managers ensure that all procedures and processes are carried out in accordance with the applicable regulations – including the PSD2 Directive and the German money laundering law (GwG).
At finAPI, the human resources department is responsible for more than just people, which is why it is called “People & Culture”. The team takes care of all HR-related issues such as employee development and well-being, but also of questions such as corporate culture and employer branding.
As a software developer and provider of digital financial products, IT systems are at the heart of finAPI. Our operations managers are responsible for our highly secure, high-performance IT systems and cloud infrastructure, ensure that standards are met and processes followed, including with respect to overall IT security.
The goal of our marketing team is to raise awareness of our products and services in the market, communicate their advantages and support our sales team with appropriate marketing measures. We use instruments from the entire marketing mix, with a focus on online marketing.
As an account information service, finAPI handles sensitive banking data, so we attach great importance to data protection. The data protection officer is responsible for compliance with laws and regulations, such as the European General Data Protection Regulation (GPDR) and German data protection law (BDSG), and handles inquiries about data protection. Our managing directors not only make important strategic and business decisions, they also remain actively involved in day-to-day operations. Marketing and sales, product development and operations, or our cooperation with SCHUFA in the development and sales of XS2A-based solutions – each managing director is responsible for an area of our business and ensures the continued growth and success of finAPI.

Florian laid the foundation for his career in the financial industry while completing his doctorate during his later teaching and research at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich. As co-founder of finAPI he has been responsible for strategic sales management and the coordination of international sales activities since 2008. In the wake of PSD2, he helped to move the company from a financial software start-up to one of the leading account information and services in Germany with expertise in open finance, data intelligence, payment, and KYC solutions.
Martin is also a co-founder and managing director of finAPI. Before founding finAPI, Martin worked for several years as a consultant in a management consulting firm, with a focus on management and IT. He studied computer science at the Technical University of Munich, Stanford University, the Institut Eurecom Paris and the City University New York. Martin has used this experience to drive product development and operations, create innovative solutions, and establish finAPI as a leading provider of open banking, open finance and data intelligence solutions.
Marcus has been a Managing Director at finAPI since July 2023. His responsibilities include expanding and strengthening the cooperation between finAPI and SCHUFA in the development and distribution of innovative open banking solutions as well as ensuring regulatory compliance and continued improvement of the business organization. He studied Business Informatics and Finance at the Frankfurt School and has 15 years of experience in the German banking sector. His most recent position was Head of Technology at a securities institution while, prior to that, he led various digitalization projects in corporate banking at Deutsche Bank.
